The number behind this page
The U.S. solar industry supports around 280,000 workers and needs roughly 355,000 to hit installation targets of 60 to 70 GW. That is a shortfall of about 53,000 people by late 2026, according to the 2025 U.S. Energy & Employment Report and the IREC National Solar Jobs Census.
The hardest roles to fill are not entry level. Nearly half of firms report significant difficulty hiring directors and supervisors; more than a quarter call installation and project development roles very difficult to fill. Only around 43% of the workforce has access to the training these roles now require.
Add the apprenticeship requirement — a share of total labour hours performed by qualified apprentices to secure full credit value — and staffing stops being an HR problem and becomes a tax-credit problem.
Crews work under your project management and your safety program, or under our supervision if you prefer. Both models are on the table.
How it works
Discipline, headcount, shift pattern and duration. We do not quote a rate before we know whether it is four weeks or eight months.
Site location, per diem and travel expectations, and whether crews work under your safety and QA program or ours.
Prevailing wage, apprenticeship ratios and any project labour agreement that applies. These change the arithmetic and we would rather know first.
We do not bid against clients on projects where we supply crews. If you hand us your pipeline to staff, we are not going to show up as your competitor on the next round.

Not a stock library. Mechanical assembly, structure work and module setting on a utility-scale site, with our own supervision and our own safety program.
