Battery energy storage

Storage is the part of the market that does not expire.

Solar's investment credit closes for projects placed in service after 2027 unless they were safe-harbored. Storage keeps the 30% credit for construction starts through 2033. That makes batteries the durable investment — and integration the skill worth buying.

What we do

From sizing to energization

We work as the engineering and construction arm for battery projects: reading the use case, sizing the system against it, installing it and proving it works. Standalone or co-located with existing solar, wind or thermal generation.

Our team has integrated containerized systems in utility-scale service, including Tesla Megapack and Powerpack platforms, and residential and commercial Powerwall installations.

Scope we take on

  • Use-case analysis and system sizing (power, energy, cycles, augmentation)
  • Foundations, plinths and civil works for containerized enclosures
  • Placement, mechanical installation and interconnection of modules
  • MV/LV distribution, transformers and substation work
  • Controls, EMS integration and grid-code compliance
  • Commissioning, performance testing and energization
  • Long-term operations, maintenance and augmentation planning

Where storage earns

Four applications we build for

Co-located with generation

Batteries added to solar or wind that is already interconnected. Uses an existing point of interconnection — the scarcest asset in a market with five-to-eight-year queues.

Grid services and capacity

Standalone systems providing capacity, frequency response and ramping. Sizing driven by market rules and dispatch, not by rules of thumb.

Industrial resilience

Behind-the-meter storage for facilities where an outage costs more per hour than the system costs per year. Peak shaving where tariffs reward it.

Island and weak-grid systems

Where the grid is fragile, storage stops being an optimization and becomes a condition of operation. Puerto Rico taught us this the hard way.

Microgrids

Generation, storage and controls that can island and resynchronize, for campuses, plants and remote operations.

Retrofit and augmentation

Adding capacity to systems already in service, replacing degraded modules and re-tuning controls against how the asset is actually dispatched.

A note on procurement

FEOC rules changed what "cheapest" means

For projects beginning construction after December 31, 2025, a minimum share of manufactured product cost must come from non-prohibited-foreign-entity sources, and that threshold tightens each year. The practical effect is that procurement decisions now carry documentation risk, not just price risk. We build the sourcing record as the project is built, because reconstructing it afterwards is where projects lose credit value.

General information, current as of August 2026, based on the 2025 budget reconciliation act and guidance issued to date. Rules are subject to change and their application depends on project-specific facts. Confirm with your own tax counsel.

Talk to engineering

Batteries are unforgiving of guesswork

Sizing a storage system without reading the dispatch is how projects end up oversized, undersized or degrading faster than the model assumed. Tell us what it has to do and we will tell you what it takes.

  • Own crews for civil, mechanical and electrical scope
